About Mickey Chiang Dun-Ru
What's next is best
As an Independent film director, screenwriter, and editor based in LA, Mickey Chiang Dun-Ru, raised in Taipei, began her career as a commercial film production assistant, driven by her curiosity about the industry.
Pursuing a master's degree in film production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 2021, she directed two narrative short films and engaged as an editor in short film productions. Each storytelling endeavor for Mickey is a journey of self-dialogue, exploring themes of belonging and authenticity, evident in works like Moonlight Dancer and Jessy on My Mind, where characters grapple with abandonment.
Her editing work, akin to a pair of wings, allows her to delve into characters' perspectives, fostering empathy and understanding. The two short films she recently edited, PAPA and 27 Club, are set to be released soon. Ultimately, she believes in the power of storytelling to find inner peace and a sense of belonging, embodying the belief that "You are your own place of belonging."
